About Sylvia Kerr

Growing up in the small, rural costal town of Montrose in the North East of Scotland, Sylvia was surrounded by nature and it’s this strong connection and passion for wildlife, animals and the countryside, which we see in her design today. 

Attending the respected Duncan of Jordanstone Art College in Dundee, Sylvia qualified in BA honours in Jewellery and then went onto do a post graduate diploma, before launching her brand in 1989 focusing heavily on creating bespoke jewellery pieces in Gold, Platinum and Silver.

This quest for creating unique jewellery pieces, which celebrated the wearer’s individuality also lead Sylvia to champion the trend for remodelling antique, sentimental and family heirlooms and transforming them into fresh contemporary pieces. Designs, which captured the essence of their heritage, yet gave the jewellery a new personality and life. During her career, Sylvia has undertaken numerous private commissions from wedding rings through to trophies and table centrepieces, including the latter for the armed forces, crafted in silver for commemorative occasions and events.

 

Now based in Angus, Scotland's Agricultural heartland, Sylvia takes forward with her all this knowledge, experience and cultural influence pooled from nearly three decades of design and continues to present exciting and breath taking jewellery work from her bustling artisan studio, which she shares with the team and her beloved pets. The collections showcase Sylvia’s obvious passion for nature and a lifetime love of horses, which are rejoiced through individual works of art which have been designed to sit alone in all their brilliance or fit perfectly as a entire story of coordinated pieces from earrings, bracelets, necklaces and brooches.

Sylvia’s quest to deliver contemporary design with classical craftsmanship and unique subject influence ensures her evolving and expanding collections remain distinctive and offers the wearer a timeless piece, which bridges the gap between fashion and luxury.
